Meet Kyler
A lifelong Kansan, Sgt. Kyler Sweely was born and raised in Newton. He proudly served in the United States Army where he led a small unit of soldiers, responsible for the training and health & welfare of the men in his unit. He also deployed as a tank gunner to the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
After the service, Kyler returned home to Kansas. He made his home in Hutchinson and worked on legislative staff where he was primarily assigned to budget issues. That experience - seeing firsthand where state spending could be reined in - drew him to run for the Kansas Legislature.
Kyler proudly serves the families of the 102nd District in the Kansas House of Representatives where he has helped spearhead legislation to crack down on violent crime, fight fentanyl abuse, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and increase the availability of affordable housing.
